Axioo MyBook 11 - a super portable hybrid laptop

In 2004, Axioo, a brand of ICT – Information and Communication Technology – devices, is found in Jakarta, Indonesia. The company actively manufactures laptops, smartphones, and tablets since entering Indonesian market in 2014. One of their latest laptop is Axioo MyBook 11. This MyBook 11 is equipped with middle-end hardware.

Design

Coming as a hybrid laptop, MyBook 11 looks very stylish and elegant. Since it is a hybrid laptop, it can be opened up to 180 degrees. The size of the laptop is made small to increase the portability. This thin hybrid laptop has an 18 thickness. Besides thin, this laptop is also lightweight. It only weighs 1 kg. All in all, the laptop is designed with a high-level portability.

Ports

Talking about ports, MyBook 11 has 2 USB ports. For data transferring, it has 1 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0 port. For entertainment purpose, MyBook 11 is equipped with a 3.5mm stereo audio jack port. MyBook 11 also comes with a mini HDMI port. To re-charge the battery, 1 DC-in power supply port is installed. The last is a microSD slot to expand storage. Since MyBook 11 is a thin hybrid laptop, it is not equipped with an optical drive, so if you need to open something from a compact disk, you will need to get an external CD player.

Display

The 11-inch display on MyBook 11 provides a bright, colorful and sharp image. The test is done by watching film trailers. The result shows that the display can present a high definition images. The weakness of the display is that the 720p and the 1080p videos do not look different. It is because the display sharps at only 1366 x 768 pixels. In other words, the display is limited up to HD quality.

Audio

Equipped with two speakers, MyBook 11 can present a well-balanced audio. The speakers do not sound harsh even at its maximum sound volume. The song that is used to test the speakers is the Dream Theater’s Spirit Carries On. When it is played, the sound surrounds the room where I test the laptop. The bass detail is quite clear. The sound produced by the speakers is really comfortable to be heard.

Keyboard and Touchpad

Keyboard and Touchpad are important parts in a notebook. Without them, how can the notebook be used? Talking about the keyboard on MyBook 11, it is good for fast typing since the space between one button to other button is close, plus the size of each button is proportional. Move to its touchpad, the surface is smooth. The touchpad is really nice when it is operated. The buttons on the touchpad are quite soft, making it more comfortable. Axioo has successfully presented a good user experience in this important aspect.

Performance

Talking about the performance, MyBook 11 is not made for a super complex data processing, since it is equipped with standard hardware which are an Intel Quad Core X5-Z8350 CPU with the help of 2GB RAM. There are two type of hard drives. They are eMMC that has 32GB capacity and HDD with 1TB capacity. Besides, it can be expanded with a microSD up to 128GB. The graphic processing unit that is installed is an Intel HD Graphics. Yes, this laptop is made for lightweight tasking purpose.

Battery life

MyBook 11 comes with a superbig battery capacity. When it is fully charged, the battery of the MyBook 11 can last up to five (for complex tasks) until nine hours (for simple tasks). It is because MyBook 11 adopts an 10000mAh battery. MyBook 11 can be charged with two types of inputs. They are AC in 100 until 240V at 50 until 60Hz, and DC at 5V/2.5A. In other words, MyBook 11 can be charged with a powerbank that can give a 5V output.

Heat and Noise

During the test, MyBook 11 does not produce less heat than other laptops in the same class. When the test is ended, the temperature of its bottom body is a little bit warm. MyBook 11’s fan sounds quietly even when the tasks performed by the notebook getting heavier.
