Nowadays, Zyrex actively manufactures laptops and markets them in Indonesia. One of their latest laptop is Zyrex Notebook Sky 232. The Notebook Sky 232 is a notebook for an entry-level segment. Design

Designed with plastic material does
not make this notebook look awful. In fact, it looks like a premium notebook, MacBook, at glance. What makes this
laptop interesting to see is that its Zyrex
logo at the back will light up when the laptop in turned on. That makes the
design look so modern. The body of the Sky
232 has 15mm thickness which makes it categorized as a thin laptop. Because
of that thin body, it only weighs 1,32 kg which is good for you who want to
bring your notebook everywhere without worrying about its weight. All in all,
the design is trendy and modern.
Ports
On the right side, you can find 1 USB
2.0 port, 1 microSD slot that supports the storage up to 128GB, and 1 jack
audio port. Move to its left side, you can find 1 USB 3.0 port, and mini HDMI
port, and 1 power adaptor port. Since the Sky 232 is a thin laptop, it is not
equipped with an optical drive, so if you need to open something from a compact
disk, you will need to get an external CD player.
Display
The 14-inch display on the Sky 232
provides a quite sharp image. It is bright and colorful. When it is used to
watch film trailers, the display can present a high definition images. The
detail in the films can be seen clearly, but when it comes to a full HD video,
it just feels like there is no different with HD film. It is because the
display sharps at only 1366 x 768 pixels. In other words, the display is not
for an awesome multimedia purposes.
Audio
If you are looking for a laptop with
a good audio quality, this laptop might be your best choice. Equipped with two
speakers with large chamber, the Sky 232 can
present a marvelous acoustic experience. The speakers do not sound harsh even
at its maximum sound volume. When Dream Theater’s Spirit Carries On is played,
the sound surrounds my bedroom. The bass can be heard clearly. That makes the
speakers really present a well-balanced audio.
Keyboard and Touchpad
Keyboard and Touchpad are important
parts in a notebook. Without them, how can the notebook be used? Talking about
the keyboard on the Sky 232, it can give you a comfortable typing experience,
since each button is soft when being pressed. Fast typing? No worries! Move to
its touchpad, the surface is soft and smooth. Swiping touchpad feels
comfortable. Zyrex has successfully
presented a good user experience in this important aspect.
Performance
Talking about the performance, the Sky 232 is not made for a super complex
data processing, since it is equipped with standard hardware which are an Intel
Quad Core X5-Z8350 CPU with the help of 2GB RAM. The hard drive capacity is
only 32GB, but it can be expanded with a microSD up to 128GB. The graphic
processing unit that is installed is an Intel HD Graphics 400. In conclusion,
this notebook is made for lightweight data processing such as Office apps,
lightweight multimedia, and Internet surfing.
Battery life
The battery life is what makes this
laptop worth owning. When it is fully charged, the battery of the Sky 232 can
last up to four (for complex tasks) until eight hours (for simple tasks). It is
because the Sky 232 adopts an 8100mAh battery. What makes the Sky 232 unique is
that the battery can be charged with 5V and 3A input. It means that it can be
charged with a powerbank that can give a 5V output.
Heat and Noise
During the test, the Sky 232 does
not produce too much heat. When the test is ended, the temperature of its
bottom body is quite warm, not hot. The Sky 232’s fan does not sound too loud
even when the tasks performed by the notebook getting heavier.
